Hi!
There are many "New Englands" in the world ...

Maybe they make more than just England (including e.g. Nessie and some Water of Life, Highland Games, Elephant Polo).

Hi, again,

I would be very fond of some special scene:

A small house, maybe in Devon, just about to be torn down by some yellow bulldozers, and a man in his bathing gown, lying in the mud in front of the dozers, in the attempt to stop them.

So long, and thanks...

There may be many New Englands but I did not write new with a capital N. Therefore the new was aimed at "Thread" and not "England" me:1 you:0 :dr.smile:

Yes, after 10 years we know some about the way the GL thinks. There will almost certainly be a smorgasbord of sights from the whole of the British Isles i.e. all of the Kingdoms.
me:0 you:1 :clown:

The website indicates that England will be built from Summer 2016 through early 2018 (if they don't change their minds).

So it'll be some time until we see the first pictures.

In AE the capital N would be correct for both meanings (giving the caption a lot of meanings), in BE the small N is correct for your intention. The A should be upper case in both cases.

I can also imagine another scene: Some medieval knights on horses, just beeing arrested by police officers.

The latter less medieval, I presume.
This opens a vast field, perhaps a TV-announcer at a desk positioned in the middle of nowhere: "And now for somehting completely different..."

What about a Quidditch-Stadium? By the way, do all railway stations in England have a platform numbered 9 3/4?

I guess, "Quidditch" and all the other H.P. stuff will be a problem of copyrights and licence fees, because first of all MiWuLa is still a comercial enterprise.
So someone has to convince W. Bros and J.K.R., that the presence of their "products" at the layout will be great advertising for them...

That will be quite difficult, I'm afraid. :(

Time will tell. Perhaps the MiWuLa turns into something similar to "Madame Tussauds", not showing real persons' images but scenes, stories, ideas, achievements.

Maybe some day authors, musicians, architects, engineers will be proud to see their works represented in MiWuLa.

(Did anyone send the video link to Joanne or the Warner Bros.?)

These things have been part of the MiWuLa concept from the beginning.

That day is already there. DJ Bobo, The Hamburger "Birds Nest" :santagreen: etc.

That's a good point! In fact it should be an honor, to be on display at the wunderland.
As mentioned above, there are many subjects, worth to show at the english part of the layout.

Another interesting (non fictional) scene:
A group of well known model railway enthusiasts from england and germany doing a "great train race" on a long bicycle track.

Hi, there,

no idea weird enough, no concept too foolish that it couldn' be managed:
A sauerkraut liqour driven piston engine?
"...the loudest toy train ever known to man..." (09:30)
Sounds great.

sssst Qrt! wrong language...
Must be quite difficult to write postings in two foreign languages on the same board, by the way.

Back to topic: I liked the idea, to refer to the pre railway age.
An english section also gives a great chance to honor the pioneers and inventors of the steam and railway technology, like Richard Trevithick, Thomas Newcomen, James Watt and George Stephenson. Also the first german loco was produced by Stephenson and was carried by ship a long way from england.

There would be no Wunderland without them! :D

Why didn't they send it by cargo train :?: ?? :!: ? :?

And there are some stories around the railway:

Michael Chrichton's Book: "The Great Train Robbery" (Lateron filmed with Sean Connery and Donald Sutherland; German Title: "Der Große Eisenbahnraub"). Story plays in Queen Victoria's England, mid of 19th century.

Or more real: "The Great Train Robbery" was performed in 1963. The prey was 2'631'684 £.
Lateron filmed in German, titled "Die Gentlemen bitten zur Kasse" with Horst Tappert among others. As far as I remember the TV film, the gang planned the holdup using a set of Märklin H0 trains as demonstration objects.
Look at http://www.trainrobbery.de/ for details, not for toy trains.

Because they were far more modern than so:
They shipped it in containers on the waterways. :idee:
and the only railroad in Germany at the time had neither lokos nor waggons. They were in the cradles

I would like to see a Golden Arrow Boat Train (no, it's not a train that floats on water )

It was a luxury train with Pullman coaches that travelled from the South of England to France.

The coaches would be carried across the English Channel by steam ship to France to complete the journey:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Arrow_(train)

It would be very interesting to see if Miniatur Wunderland could make the locomotive load the coaches onto the ship and then carry them across some water to an SNCF locomotive in France.

The Millenium Bridge in Newcastle is an interesting landmark.

It's a footbridge that tilts sideways so that ships can pass underneath it:
