Yullbe + MiWuLa + Hamburg - My Latest Trip Report
On Sunday I got back from another brilliant few days in a Hamburg - a city I am quickly coming to think of as my second home. The first set of photos are from Miniatur Wunderland and I'll put general Hamburg photos further down the thread.
I arrived in MiWuLa making use of my annual pass and arranged to meet my family a little later in Youllbe. While I was enjoying walking around the layout I heard an apocalyptic crash coming from the bridge - I actually one of the windows must have broken. The truth was rather more mundane.
Then I headed down to Youllbe where I met my family. My wife waited while my son and I played the 30 minute adventure shrunk down to miniature size. This is brilliant fun! We had an absolute blast. The technology is still a little new and there were one or two glitches, but we thought the experience was very positive and this is definitely someone I would do again.
So with that in mind we returned a couple of days later and all 3 of us went on the 10 minute Youllbe experience. The equipment is a little simpler but this is really good fun and I think this is possibly a little better than the 30 minute adventure. At 10 minutes the VR headset does not start to feel too heavy and the adventure is very (very!) well done. I really believe everyone should have a go at this.
Then I returned for a third visit where it was nice to have time just to "be" in Miniatur Wunderland. I love the Easter decorations.
I love finding a favourite spot to stand and trying to follow trains and work out which tunnel they will re-emerge from. Listening to other visitors. Having time to just enjoy the experience.
On days like today washing the windows may seem a little unnecessary but it is good to see it all being kept clean and in great condition.

Re: Yullbe + MiWuLa + Hamburg - My Latest Trip Report
These are other photos and general comments from our brilliant week in Germany.
Well, firstly, lets get this out of the way. The weather was awful. Really awful. All week. And I come from Scotland. But seriously, Germany, a tornado??
This is the Submarine a little further along the river from MiWuLa.
Although I was not fortunate enough to see any forum members at MiWuLa, at least one esteemed forum member was there in spirit.
We travelled to Schlump. Partly because the word "Schlump" sounds very funny to us, but mainly because my son wanted to visit the Katzentemple cat cafe - which we really enjoyed. Although we also enjoyed saying "Schlump" to each other.
As a family we really enjoy doing escape rooms, and we did two while we were in Hamburg. I find that these help us to work well together as a family and we all make contributions towards our escape. We have done escape rooms everywhere we have been on holiday and we all agreed - Hamburg has the best escape rooms.
A quick tour round the beautiful Rathaus.
A visit to the Cap San Diego.
And a trip to the zoo - Henry! Is that you?
This has been a very busy week that we have all thoroughly enjoyed. I can't think of anywhere else in the world we have been where people are always so willing to stop and make time for us, ask us if they can help, talk to us and just make us feel welcome. We love Germany. I can't wait to come back.
We will be glad when masks are no longer required though!

I guess "Schlump" sounds very funny in almost every language.
If someone likes Star Trek, I always recommend to go to "Borgweg".
Sounds lke a nice holyday. I hope, your family enjoyed it.

Yes Roger, that was me. When the bears of the zoo are in vacation im working there instead of them.
And now I know why you are showing two fingers: Roman people use a "V" instead of a 5...
You wanted to have 5 beer.

Roger, I would never dye my hair. I always use a brown or whit wig when I'm working as a bear in the zoo
