Here in this interesting forum we have some German specialities. For example the word "chat" is distributed
as "** Online-Laberei **". May be some English speaking partner can't understand, what this means.
The string ** Online-Laberei ** means "chat" -
Kind regards from Germany

My Wordbook marks die Laberei as [ugs.] [pej.] = it is considered colloquial but also pejorative,or, in other words
depreciatory adj.
derogatory adj.
disparaging adj.
disparagingly adv.
pejorative adj.
I have always taken that for a statement:
The MiWuLa Forum is not a ** Online-Laberei **. RATS! I wrote: c h a t
The use of the term "on-line Laberei" expresses a wish by the Geschäftsleitung for well formulated and well thought-out substantial contributions of ideas and information. If there is a place for chatting in das MiWuLa Forum it is the area for "Signature test and nonsense".
Am I wrong ?
