I had stopped visiting this forum as I found it too depressing, being unable to visit. I have a lot of respect for Angela Merkel and understand the reasons that British visitors to Germany have to wait. Today, it sounds like we might not have to wait for too much longer.

I can't tell you how much I have missed MiWuLa, Hamburg and Germany - I hope so much that maybe the wait is over. This has been torture.

Nice to read your words. Many Germans and people from other countries are feeling the same torture. A good chance to meet again is the MFM meeting on September 18th and 19th in Hamburg, when many of this "Forumanes" are there. You know the invitation and we look forward to an excellend event im Hamburg.

It looks like I may be able to visit very soon. I am going to wait 2 weeks and see how things settle down then look at flights to Hamburg early in August.

I am so much happier today. I have spent much of lockdown trying to learn German, but it has been hard work. This morning it feels like much less of a chore. I am so excited at the prospect of being able to return to beautiful Hamburg.
